Neat thread just noticed it today. I have an interesting aquisition (no pictures yet). My mother in-law was partial heir to a mans estate recently, The fellow and I were supposed to get together to discuss coins as he was also a collector. When dividing the estate my mother in law was asked if she wanted his coin collection (valued by a dealer at $900 for the estate) as part of her proceeds. She took it and sold it to me for the appraised value knowing the man had wanted me to have some of the coins anyway. Here is the take so far

$250 in circulated $2 bills Ikes, Sacs, SBAs, Kennedy halves, and bicentenial quarters. (I will have fun spending these)
2 rolls Canadian quarters 40s to 70s
Roll Canadian dimes 40s to 60s
5 rolls Canadian nickels including 1899, 1905, and 1906 which are the size of a Half Dime and silver
1884, 1887, 1900, 1901, 1905, 1913, 1919(2), and 1920(2) Canadian large cents
1723 Hibernia copper farthing (holed at base of bust or would be fine condition)
1831 large cent (holed on right side of date or would be VG)
1810(10/9) large cent VG/F
1832 Half Cent XF
Civil war token "Oliver Boutwell Miller" 1863
Union Flour token DL Wing & Co Albany NY
Misouri sales tax token (1935-1940)
6 different transit tokens from pre 50s
10 wooden nickels from various companies
approximately 200 foreign coins mostly dated from 30s and 40s(just started going through these)
69 Notes from China, Japan, Germany, France, Italy dated between 1910 and 1944 (some are not in very good shape)
200 rolls of cents various dates on the rolls 59 through 75 (I haven't opened these yet to see if they are bright red)
Jar of about 2000 wheat cents
77 Indian Head cents ( no significant dates except 68,and 09)
1853 Half Dime F
1864 2 cent large motto VG
Ancient Roman Follis 296-360 AD
as yet unidentified ancient all characters no people or writing
1886, 1887, 1889 Seated Liberty dimes VG XF F
several junk merc dimes
the following Barber dimes all G/VG 96, 00-O, 01, 02-O, 03(VF),05, 05-S, 06(2), 07, 08(3), 08-D, 08-O, 09, 09-O, 10, 10-S, 11(2), 11-S(2), 12(2), 12-D, 12-S, 13(2), 14(2), 14-D(2), 15, 16(2) The Barbers and Seated Liberties were in a tube with mercs showing at each end.
1920 Pilgrim commemorative

71 uncirc IKE still in blue mint packaging
Proof sets 72, 79, 80(2), 81(5), 82(3), 83(3)

BADTHAD, those are some really nice pennies. I really like it when they get the rainbow toning. Great find! The fake 1909 penny is a good lesson. If someone were not paying attention, how easy it is to get taken. I hope something gets done soon. The rest of you have been doing well. With my health getting better, I hope to be taking some pictures and the like. Been busy loading coins into my NGC Registry, in the top 300 for points. It is a fun way to see other's collections
Good Luck,

Alan

You cannot possibly imagine how difficult it is to get one of these rolls over here in Australia.
But I managed to get one of each within the last week! Woo-hoo!

Slowly but surely I'm building up my AU/BU mercs. Page 2 of my Dansco is almost done. Page 1 will probably never be finished unless I find a way to get really rich :D.

Got a 1972 S Kennedy half proof at a convenience store. Some guy took it out of its case to pay for goods.

Coindexter, nice coins, if you find last years nickels and dimes I hope it is at cost. I called people I know around the states and am only up 2 rolls of 2009 P dimes at cost. Got them at my Safeway from a cashier I had looking. The best bets for these coins are at large retailers like Wal-mart as they appear to be able to order coins. Something we can't do, yet support the mint with our purchases!

Just recently got this one. I seem to be developing a "thing" for Standing Liberty quarters! It's not a full head and the shield rivets are present but weak by the hip, but overall I'm happy with it!

Outstanding Standing Liberty quarter! It is a favorite, but I stay away as they get pretty expensive to collect. Congrats on a great coin!

Some rim issues but still, a very scarce coin. I was happy to add it to the collection
