SDcoinguy, I totally understand about being busy, I have two banks, and I have not had time to stop at the one for a month, but I stop at the other one frequently. I searched $750 in dimes recently, and not one silver. They were Brinks boxes. My bank uses both brinks and Loomis, but I can't be picky about which boxes I receive. I am glad to see you back. Take care.

Finally finished my box of dimes. Took me over a month, on and off. Almost got 100% skunked until the very last roll, when I found a 2009-D (first one I've found), which I'll probably give to my daughter. No silver, though, which I guess is not unexpected. Going to try half dollars next.
Cheers!

My cousin and her husband let me go through a large 5 gallon jug that was full of change accumulated over the last 10 years, and I agreed to roll all the change with my "service fee" only being that I take all the old stuff for my collection. Better rate than what Coinstar would charge!
There was about $250 worth of dimes, so one full box. Ended up with 3 silvers, a 46S, 57D, and 62D.
I have to wonder what causes customer deposited rolls to have a higher probability of having interesting stuff. I know some of the armored car rolls have Coinstar deposits which reject silver, but the only valuables I reasonably could see in the customer rolls are the occasional deceased relative's collection that got deposited into the bank by the ignorant heirs of the collection that didn't know any better what it was worth. Do most people out there that roll their change not notice silver dimes when they show up? At least for me, I can usually spot one in a sea of clad immediately unless it's really tarnished or discolored.

In the last 5 days I've been through $325 in CWR, with 5 silvers to show for it: 41 P merc, 48 D, 53 D, 61 D and 63 D. So one find every 13 rolls, which is VERY odd for me here in Philly (especially all those Denver mints); heck the 48D and 53 D were in the same roll separate by only one clad dime. We had a few trickle into the collection in early January but shifting from exclusively nickels to half nickels and half silver (dimes, quarters, halves) has been occasionally rewarding AND the tellers don't hate me nearly as much when dumping re-rolls.

The dimes continue for me in suburban Philly but VERY streaky. I must have gone through nearly $200 of mixed rolls with not a thing to show for it except short CWR and then hit a streak of 5 silvers in just 25 rolls. After another $150 of garbage rolls, yesterday 2 silvers in $140 of mixed rolls. That dime album is slowly filling up but it's definitely not fast paced.

Famine, and a feast of sorts in the latest $400 searched. The first $300 of that gave up a solitary 64 P, but the last $100 had this hiding in there!

That 1949-S dime is awesome, I just looked it up, it is a rarer dime.

The only rarer business strike, the 55 P, was one we acquired at a coin show a couple years ago that was in a $1 clearance bin. But to find it a 49 S in circulation among all the clad dimes makes it all the better.
