I have just recently started to get interested in Coins and came across a 1942 Mercury dime. I am not real sure if this is a double stamp error and need your help please.

I see nothing special.
The "2" looks like it took a hit some time in the past, possibly by a coin roller.
Rest in Peace

To CCF , just out of curiosity is it a Denver mint or
Philly ? With all that obvious wear on that Dime there's about a 5% chance it could be a 1942/1 D .

I agree with 'kanga' looks like the 2 took a hit. The 42/41 is pretty distinct.

to CCF.

Looks like a typical worn 1942 Merc, but keep looking - you never know what you might find !
