I found this deviation on this 2 frank 1943 (KM#25)

Normally the legend is pure, this one isn't.

Small die breaks:
N of VAN, B of BELGISH, N of CONGO

Belgian-Congo:-2-Frank-1943

Here an example with a pure legend:

Belgian-Congo:-2-Frank-1943

Note:
This piece is minted in Philadelphia Mint, USA.

---

The word BELGISCH is misspelled!
There stands BELGISH they forgotten the C !!

"Belgisch" meets "Belgian" in Flemish/Dutch.

"Belgisch" is the correct spelling for this word.

A compleet piece as example:

Belgian-Congo:-2-Frank-1943

So - is this a variation or a forgery? I have this coin myself, somewhere (not in front of me).

I'm not sure I understand "pure/not pure" terminology ...

@ Liotes,

This not a variation or a forgery.
A variation you have after a handmade adaptation of the die.
A forgery is fake.

No, these are small/minor damage of the die. So I call it a deviation.

@ svslav,

Pure is without "extra" parts in the letters
N of VAN, B of BELGISH, N of CONGO

Unpure (not pure) is with "extra" parts in the letters
N of VAN, B of BELGISH, N of CONGO

mvg,
Aernout
