After telling them about how I go through rolls searching for certain dates and such, my dad pulled out his pocket change and handed it to me to look through. Just so happened that he had a 2009-D and a 1952 in his pocket. Tomorrow I'm going to the bank to pick up two boxes that I ordered, my first boxes of 2012. Here's my finds. 1940 1941 1947 1948 1948-S 1952 1954-D 1956 1957-D 1958-D X4 2009-D X3 Not to shabby of a day. Hopefully my boxes will be in tomorrow. Report this Post to the Staff

Jdot Valued Member United States 139 Posts	Posted 01/31/2012 9:47 pm Searched $10 in CWR today and one roll paid off. Found this terrible looking 45-P (any silver is good silver) and a 1917 Buffalo. The date didn't come out in the scan but its fairly readable. (I also found the Merc today but I am too lazy to scan all the coins separately). Report this Post to the Staff
jizer1 Valued Member United States 214 Posts	Posted 02/01/2012 10:52 am Well after a 9 box skunk streek of no silver and no Buffalo nickels, I finally got a 1943 from a CWR. . A few other semi key dates including a 1950p, but no hole fillers. Still 10 holes left. Now where can they be? Report this Post to the Staff

Tempuss77 Valued Member United States 63 Posts	Posted 02/02/2012 1:50 pm Went to the bank yesterday to pick up four boxes of nickels that I ordered. The tellers where amazed that I was gonna take the time to go through all those nickels. When I told them that I would be back in 2-3 days to turn them back in, they where even more amazed that I could go through them all in "such a short amount of time" lol. After a long coin conversation with the tellers, one of the tellers went to the back and returned with about 400 paper nickel rolls that she gave to me free of charge so that I wouldn't have to buy my own to re-roll all my nickels. I just wanna say....new favorite bank! Went through 65 rolls last night with little to show for it, no silvers or keys. Once I finish all 4 boxes I'll let y'all know what I found. The only nickel dated prior to 1960 was a very poor condition 1946. These were CWR and am wondering if I'm missing the boat by not buying a whole box? Report this Post to the Staff
Kefiroth Pillar of the Community United States 1431 Posts	Posted 02/02/2012 7:32 pm Searched a box today and found what could possibly be a huge find. (well sort of) I got a 1942D, 1943P, AND...an extremely worn, corroded, brown, V nickel! This is the ugliest nickel I've ever seen and is only identifiable as a nickel upon close inspection. Probably grades P1 or worse. Only 3 digits of the date are visible. It's an 188?. It's currently soaking in acetone, an if that doesn't clear anything up I'll have to resort to vinegar since its not like its value can get any lower. Hoping to reveal a 5 or a 6!
