Sap Moderator Australia 16877 Posts	Posted 10/01/2008 09:23 am They are both from Turkey (Constantinople mint). #1: The accession year is 1293, but it's impossible to determine the denomination without knowing the size, as the 1 kurush (KM 735) and 2 kurush (KM 736) coins are identical in design. The regnal year is 9, giving the coin's date to be AH 1301 (= 1884 AD). Given the parallel scratches, I assume it was cleaned at some stage. #2: I believe this one is actually a coin-like fantasy jewellery piece; the "date" appears to be 1222, but no coins actually with that date look like this. The toughra is also very badly drawn; it's supposed to be the sultan's signature. DagonX Valued Member Poland 392 Posts	Posted 10/01/2008 10:55 am So, firstly I don't know whether first coins was cleaned, maybe last owner did it. Secondly the silver coin has 18mm. The second "coin" I got as a gift from person who unfortunately knows nothing about numismatics, so it might be some kind of "jewellery piece", not a coin.
