coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/02/2020 12:06 pm The collar is what puts the reeds on the dime and makes the outside rim round: This is what a collar and die looks like. This one is a broke collar and you can see the cracked areas on the reed areas. So on your coin the edge is altered. Possibly sanded, or the reeds were flattened?
