Hello,

I don't really collect Morgan dollars but I have a few I was looking at and noticed this really prominent die crack. I was wondering if it serves as a diagnostic for a VAM. I read the forum sticky about cracks and how common they are, so I'm not sure if this is only unusual to me. I appreciate your feedback.

Most die cracks aren't diagnostic of a VAM unless they evolve into a die break. Yours looks like a high O, tilted right, and it might be a VAM-11A with reverse die breaks. (or possibly VAM-18 if the die breaks haven't fully developed.)

Here's a site that shows the die cracks/breaks for this VAM more clearly.
