Cashed in yesterday at the penny arcade where the teller is cool and doesn't mind when I go right up to the counter and get more coins. Total was 107.77, so I got 21 rolls of dimes and the remaining 2.77 in cash/coins.
Did a preliminary search of all 21 rolls hoping to find some silver dimes, but did not find a single one. Later in the day I emptied my pockets and looked at the 77 cents I received... there were 2 1960 dimes.

I just dumped $230 rolled dimes at my CU. Found one rosie, and a week before found 5 out of $700. I re-roll, something I said I'd never do. I don't use the counter often as it will counnt dimes as cents... I also don't "dump where I eat".

Collectall, you should definately try the dimes...I would buy them and pull a large magnet through the pile. Seperate good from bad. I really enjoy finding those silver canadians when I'm searching here in Michigan, I get about 50 can dimes per $500 US, and average about 1 silver per $1K US. Good luck if you do.

well, I did something I am kind of sad about. I bought 3 hole filler Roosies I couldn't let them go though I purchased 5 dimes in total for 2 dollars a piece 1941 D hole filler merc 1946 S hole filler BU 1948 BU (non hole filler but upgrade by a lot) 1955 hole filler BU 1955 S hole filler BU I couldn't pass up BU gorgeous hole fillers for 2 dollars a piece I now need 10 coins for a complete set (13 for the roll searched set) I will not count these pick ups in my roll searched finds for my complete roosie set from circulation so I am still stuck at 13, but wow I didn't think I could pass those deals up. I think I might grab some more BU upgrades for 2 dollars a piece from the same dealer next show. Very pleased with these 5 coins even though they were all I grabbed at the show

2 bucks apiece, heck, that is below melt. That would be a no brainer regardless of condition...nice grab

Yeah. I was really happy with the purchase, but it felt kind of wrong putting them into the dansco with all of my finds. I plan on getting another dansco album for Roosevelt dimes since mine is old and missing a page. I might do a BU set and a circulated set. But yeah I will pick up the rest of the 2 dollar coins next show. Hopefully some more really nice BU coins. If nothing else I can use them as trade bait for when I get a few more posts

ouch! so after I bought those 5 coins I really hit a string of bad luck I usually get 3 silver per box I picked up 2 boxes box 1 was a skunk and box 2 only had one silver 1964 D either I upset the Roosevelt dime searching god by purchasing coins for my circulated set or the 13 holes left to fill are messing with my finds. Oh well. I also found out the bank teller that sells me my coin is moving to a branch like an hour from my house for a promotion I need to find a new place to get coin :( all kinds of bad luck for me this week I guess I also got skunked on my quarter box someone else get out there and find some silver dimes since the other 5 I usually get are still out there somewhere lol

I've only searched dime boxes 4 times. In each of the 4 boxes I found exactly 1 silver dime. I also never found an 82P with enough quality to be worthwhile. I'm telling you, everything has dried up except nickels. Halves, Quarters, and dimes don't have any silver left and its been too long ago to find good quality 82s and 83s. Wheaties are turning up less and less and copper is disappearing. Nickels are where it's at. War Nickels in every box plus many scarce dates every time.

I have been getting very low finds on War Nickels. I think I got one out of my last 8 boxes or something like that.

I love how people tell you exactly where to find silver and where it is impossible to find it I find the most pieces of silver consistently in dime boxes I found one silver nickel tonight in a box and it is the first silver nickel for me in 4 boxes also I still have 5 holes to fill in that album. I don't know which scarce dates this guy is finding, but I am still missing the main dates from roll searching plus 1 silver dime has more silver in it then 1 silver nickel...so yeah a silver dime would be much more worth finding then a War Nickel. everyones finds are different based on where you are, plus 4 boxes....really. If I stopped nickels after only searching the 3 boxes prior to the one I just finished and said there are no more silver nickels left I would call myself an idiot. I have found silver in every denomination in the wild. It's out there and if you seek it out you will find it. Everyone has different success based on many factors. My biggest issue with this site is people saying things like "it is a waste to search X type of coin because there is nothing good to find. I have found over 2 rolls of silver dimes (over 100) and only about one roll of silver War Nickels (40) hmmm more dimes, and more silver value. I think I might switch to nickels now since someone else tells me dimes are a waste of time

Found a 1963D Silver Roosevelt in a roll yesterday.
I usually don't get dime rolls but I only need a 1983P and 1987D to complete my Dansco album so I told the teller to give me 1 roll of dimes and there it was while going through it. I almost missed it as I was looking more for the '83 and the '87.

I just went through a box of nickels and .. **(No Zip Files Allowed)** ..nada the only good piece was a 2009 d. My last box of dimes I found a 54 and 2 2009 p's. It seems the 09's aren't as scarce as they once were. I think I'll stick with dimes. (The boxes are lighter haha)

I'm working on a Kennedy half dollar set. The last time I made it to the bank they didn't have any halves so I asked for $30 of dimes just to give it a try. The first 5 rolls did a pretty good job of completing a 65-2010 set but the 6th roll was astounding. I found 4 Mercury dimes and 2 silver Roosevelts in one roll! I think I have a new hobby!
