I just did a box and it was $1.80 short. What do you guys do when CRR are that much short?

I will never know if a box or rolls are short, because I never count 'em....they get dumped into a $500 bag and hoisted over the counter to a teller....who then hands me cash back. In the rare instance I run a few hundred $ thru the counter, and I'm shorted, if dimes are counted as cents, they later credit my account. If I'm just shorted period, I eat the loss! Like I always say, it's probably cheaper, but not as fun, to just buy silver dimes outright.

I usually search halves but you guys got me wondering so I tried it out at first I was only finding 2-5 silvers per box but this las box got me 1-1964 Canadian silver 10 cent. 1-1953 El salvador Silver 50 centavos. 25-(Yes 25!) Silver Roosies. It was fun because the box was of clear plastic wrappers.
IM HOOKED! (Halves have been kind of slow.)

Looks like people are off the dimes too. Took me a while to find the thread. Picked up a box yesterday. Skunk. I did manage to pull about 6 or 7 2010Ds, and my first proof dime from circulation, a 2005.

I quit searching dimes back in April but decided to pick up a box and some hand-rolled. The Skunk&son box=0, but the $500 hr gave up 5 rosies. My total YTD silver dime find (a couple dirtfished) is 81 rosies, 17 mercs, 15 canadians and 2 Barbers. On a side note, dug a 1924 Peace dollar yesterday, my second silver dollar in less than a year, first one being an 1889 Morgan dug last June 27th. ffd

It's great reading about all of your silver finds through dime searching. I'm new to roll hunting, and I've searched only 3 dime boxes here in Toronto but have only found a single silver, and in terrible condition too. Still, your success stories have me not wanting to give up

Like I said, I just grabbed a box of dimes tonight with fantasies of stories like yours. Roll #17 was all American dimes. Odd occurrence up here. Sadly, no silver, with the oldest being a pair from '66.

i would think doing dimes in canada would be extremely hard. they all have white edges. in the US they mostly have clad edges...
