Au Contraire, I think they have tried quite hard to deceive. The " Current Bid" window on an ebay listing is the amount you have to pay plus postage in 99.999% of listings. This "read the small print" in the heading smells of a scam to me. I can just see the bidders going up to just under face or face , Then getting the invoice for an additional $100. The seller has cleverly covered his dodgy butt with the creative wording in the listing and the buyer either pays up or faces a no payment claim. Why on earth can't the seller just list it for the total cost plus postage  This seller is clearly trying to rip someone off either ebay,the buyer or both  |

Its a shame because many notes which are still collectible but not worth a large premium are hard to get because no one wants to sell. Such as circulated radars.

I don't think the seller is being deceitful. I think he is just trying to minimize his ebay fees. As soon as I saw the listing I saw how he wanted it to work so I'm sure most other people would too. If a listing heading says "please read description before bidding" and you don't read that description then you only have yourself to blame. I think this is a justifiable way to sell a note that has such a high face value. |

They've removed the first one, but not the second one yet. The seller with the second listing is playing a very dangerous game. The last thing they need is for someone to bid, pay only the winning amount and then have some kind of Paypal dispute started for either lack of payment or refusing to sell. It's purely a fee avoidance scam, and ebay wouldn't take kindly to that at all. They would not come down on the side of a seller trying to cheat them from fees. Quote:That really is getting dodgy. It might come as a surprise to you scubu that the person of interest in this topic is trying to sell rubbish and unbelievable as it sounds he can use ebay AUSTRALIA but no real good Engrish. In this case its not seller bashing because of that,do some research buddy |

Ok so which one of you is "Buddy" Seriously tho Scubu I don't think Deano was having a crack at this seller purely because of his language skills, I think it is more because of the fact that the seller was using the Aussie ebay site to offload his garbage and that really gets up every one's goat. The term "Engrish" IS used in Aus to make fun of/degenerate people that do not have a good grasp of the English language and I consider this to be bad form. I consider this a very minor mistake and was used in "The heat of the moment" and NOT in ignorance. C'mon none of us are Saints so nice big  and lets just get on with our obsession with coins  |

In all due respect,OP topic was ebay changed rules? This topic has got out of hand,not in the spirit of supporting the coin collecting community. Everyone is entitled to an opinion,none of my posts here were intent of attacking CC members. OP had a topic,we replied,lets not get into a screaming match,I think OP made a point which is a genuine concern to all of us. Chill out dudes |

I wish they had changed their rules, I'm holding a dozen first/last prefix $100 notes that I want to sell but dont want to loose out with all ebays fees.
