thinking of buying his one

I can see why!! Wow! Stunner!!

I do see, what appears to me, some wear so I can't go with MS.

AU-55 FH.

I dearly hope these are just "no luster" photos. IF so, you definitely have an MS63 SLQ, soon to be, in your hands.

Couple of drawer bumps at and above her knew. Kind of a little darkness surrounding her FULL HEAD. Nice strike though.

I see a touch of friction on Liberty's right leg and in the reverse fields behind the eagle's right wing and between the wings. I agree with AU-55FH, possibly 58 if luster is stronger than what the photos show.

Surfaces look OK but apparent subdued luster is always a potential result of dipping or "improper cleaning". I'd carefully inspect this one to reassure myself it hasn't been "messed with". I presume you can send it back if it disappoints.

AU 58. I do not know how to distinguish FH yet.

Neither do I, CC2012.
I wish that someone would post examples of FH and not FH.

Thought I'd update you all on this coin. I sent it into NGC for grading and the dealer called me today to tell me it came in at an MS-64 FH. Yippee! Not bad for an $178.00 ebay find. I won't get it for another 10 days. But will post some pictures when I do get it. Would have never thought it would come out as a 64, so I'm very happy. This means I'll have to upgrade my 1917 d & s. My Denver mint is a AU-55 FH. And my SanFrancisco mint is a EF 45. I'll post pictures of them to

Finally got a chance to post a picture of the end result. I'm very happy with the outcome, but still not sure if it's a Ms64, but not going to argue it. :) got to admit its a beauty.
