Congratulations - major accomplishment - that's not an easy set to collect.

As for whether you should get the 81-98 coins, it's kind of a toss-up in my mind. It would be nice to have the whole series complete - but you can always collect them later - there's nothing rare so you can always add them later. Is it possible just to buy extra pages for your existing album?

As for the slabs, I looked up the values of those three (I don't collect these so only somewhat familiar with them). Since they are only in the low hundreds range each and I don't think heavily counterfeited, I would probably crack them out since I like seeing my coins together in the album. But it's a personal call - cracking slabs is not really the smart choice financially, so you' ve got to think about that too.

Congratulation On completing your set.

Sounds like you have a nice higher grade set of coins.

My opinion on some of your questions.

Should you go with a album that has dates 1932 through 1998.
I would vote for yes. You are so close now. Most of the
coins you would have to get, to take you to 1998 are not that expensive.

The 1992 - 1998 silver proofs will have the most
cost, but no where near what the 1930's quarters costs.

You mentioned "proof only issues" That means the album
manufacturer provide a port/hole for coins that
were only issued as a proof for that year.

For example, in 1973 the San Francisco mint "only"
made a 1973 S proof quarter. They did not make both
a business strike and proof. So the port/hole in your album
1973 S is for the proof coin.

But in 1964, Philadelphia mint made both a business strike
and a proof 1964 quarter. They leave it to the collector
to decide if a business strike or the proof will go into
the one port/hole provided.

As for should you break the coins out of the slabs.
I have done both. I broke a $10.00 MS 63 gold Indian
and put it in my type set.

But for my 1909S vdb, I put another coin in the spot and
labeled it.

I plan to keep my 1916d merc in a slab should I ever get it. I just put a 1916 barber in the album slot for jollies. For other keys plan on keeping them in slabs and just placing common coins from around the same year in but in reverse.

I wouldn't crack the slab just to put in the album.

You know you have the coin that goes in the spot especially after it took you 3 1/2 years of collecting to fill the book, you accomplished the task, which is commendable!

What other albums do you have to complete & how close are you to completing them?

Thanks GR58 for the info and everyone else for your comments. Glad I don't have to replace the older Philly's with proofs. Sorry the pics aren't all the best. The first page has some AU's, BU's, and an EF or two. Like the 32d and s. But the rest of the book is pretty much BU's. I was really disappointed at one time cause I got an offer from ANACS once for free grading and sent in what I thought was my best just to see if it made the grade of MS66. That was my 1938, it's a real beauty in hand. But it came back as MS60 details CLEANED, I just don't see that at all. I know from experience the there are a couple in this book that have been cleaned, but not that one. I'm pretty sure my 32s that an AU has been cleaned, but I don't care. It's still a nice coin. I'm proud that I even filled it. I settled with an AU-58 1935d because I believe this coin is over priced in today's market and had a had time justifying spending $300 or more for a MS-64 on a coin that had over 5.5 million minted. Maybe someday when I'm rich! Lol.

I would.

But then again, I got lucky. I bought those two raw in the 90's, well ahead of the price increase brought by the Statehood series.

Arrdspeed. I also have a complete Dansco album of Franklin halves, 2 full Dansco of American Eagles. And just started my 3rd book on them, just for silver investment. I was thinking of doing a 7070 Dansco. That is a big task that takes a long time. I was looking over KenKat's 7070, very nice indeed!

Not to scare anyone, but I started my Dansco 7070 in 1993 and I still have five holes left.
Rest in Peace

Very nice looking balanced set.

That's what I'm going for but still have quite a few page one empty holes.
