What is that above of america?

That's a obverse lamination. And there's a reverse die clash from the feather tips as well.

Appears as if it's been dipped unfortunately.

This is my concern. It looks beautiful in hand, but I'm just alittle... I mean the color just doesn't look quite right. I didn't know if it was paranoia or not.

The obverse, if that pic is true in hand, lacks original luster..yours is flat and micro-grainy. Those are my main concerns.

I disagree with dipped. It has luster, not shine. Plus that micro-grainy texture is just from a VLDS.

I think it's my photo technique that knocks down the luster alot of times. The luster is there, I'm concerned with the ever so slight pink hue. I've seen others this colored that have been graded and slabbed no problem. I just don't know really.

Yes SilverStackerKid, it definitely has luster!

The luster shows better on the reverse. That was my first concern, the obverse looked a bit blah.

The die clash is cool...

My personal experience with IHC's and with RD and RB coins is that pink hue, in hand, is a sign the coin has been altered in some way.
Since I don't have the coin in hand, you'd know better.
But like Ed, I'm seeing more luster and an almost more natural look on the reverse.
Having said that, if this is the exact look of the coin in hand, I can almost bet any TPG will problem label it.

My first thought when I saw your photo of obverse was it looks like it was sand blasted with corn starch.
But the reverse has the original color and luster to make it a decent coin. MS-62

I tend to agree with you. This is my delima, because I actually really like this coin. If I could say 100% that it was not altered, then I picked it up for a steal. If it's been altered, then I overpaid market value... but it still has some nice eye appeal and features.

I actually like this look... the vlds just looks cool under glass to me. Not all, but this one.

My favorite part about this IHC and why I'm struggling to keep it or not.

I think it would make AU. I am seeing a lot of wear on the tips of the feathers.

I'm on the fence about the obverse. The cheek is especially flat and has a cleaned appearance from the photo. The reverse looks very original to me and different than the obverse.

I did a little searching while at lunch and it was pretty interesting. Once you step into MS66, there are a good many of IHC's that have the same or very similar color/tone that my IHC has. Below are some links to ones that I felt were probably not exact, but definitely in the same vein:

http://coins.ha.com/itm/indian-cent...?type=NGC394

This was just a quick search under the year 1900. I felt like there were enough examples that I didn't search any other years. I'm feeling better about this coin after doing this little bit of research.
