That is absolutely precious.

I'll bet it was a gift -- maybe for their engagement?

Well this has given me a great idea!

I'm planning on getting married this summer... so I'm going to do something very similar but I think we're going to do it as part of our wedding day... one side her name and mine... prior to the wedding.. the other side her name (as she will have changed her last name) mine and the names of our children..

I was looking even closer at the back of the note in question. I found 3 more characters ( L?L ). Any idea what that means?

It's a bit of a puzzle, isn't it.

If the date isn't their anniversary .... how close is that date to the day they got married?

Keeper indeed ...

I noted the L?L in the original photo ... perhaps something like love and love?

This is an AWESOME find! Definitely a keeper! I would be thrilled to find something like this. I wish I could help on the L?L but I am stumped. Good luck and enjoy it!

Great find for sure. Nothing better in a collection than pieces with sentimental value.

Sounds very possible as their wedding date was 6/20/53

It could be L/L was intended instead of L?L.
