My guess is that he consigned it to Rick.

The number of collectors who could ever own this coin, in this grade or better, can be counted on fingers and toes. There are more 1945-P FSB Mercs in MS66 or better than there are 1804 B-1's in AU or better. |

I just now saw this post. Yes I did consign it to Rick. He has always done an excellent job for me when it comes to consignments. Fingers crossed and thanks for the gook luck wishes! The whole situation is very humbling.

Fantastic though the coin is, I simply would not want so much money tied up in a single item. I would also sell it, like @bandsdean is doing. I don't think that I would want 55,000 Mercury dimes, either. If I had to choose another numismatic item, maybe 40 Double eagles, or 80 eagles, or 160 Sovereigns. Or maybe mix and match.
