That's pretty much the boat that I'm in. Once I get more familiar with these series of coins I'll go about getting them when something nice comes up that I can also afford. A lot of the modern stuff I already had & the rest given to me in a box of 2x2s. So like stated above "why not put them in the album." I'm still somewhat young & have a lot to learn & plenty of time to build up a sweet set ;)

I think your 1945 War Nickel is an RPM.

Hey I'm happy with it for now. I filled it that much in one day, even though some are busted looking lol. Good eye, I'll have to check it later when off work. I never actually looked at it under the loupe. Will post confirming if it is.

Looking forward to it! I like looking for varieties. It makes fun out of common coins.

Oh I know, a majority of my time here is posting in the error forum with Lincoln cents.

It's a good start and like you said, the price was right. Now just a matter of deciding what to do with it going forward. Upgrade? Or leave as is? It's your call, it's a nice collection of old coins just like it is.

The 1812 Large Cent is actually not all that bad. Those Classic Head large cents don't grow on trees.

You are motivating me to try and start one, but I want to be budget mindful. I look at partially completed sets on ebay, but seems so easy to get burned, and not get the best value for the money.

Looking here & having the availability of getting a lot of the coins show for nothing motivated me to buy the album. Plus it seems that they sell out quick & was discontinued at one point I think? Grabbed it while I could. My budget really isn't the greatest but not bad. Seems even some of the bigger, more experienced collectors have taken years or decades to do theirs. I'm really in no rush as I have a lot of other albums going on & CRH cents daily.

Not going to judge your set, just going to enjoy viewing it. If you're happy with it that's all that matters.

A shame - just an artifact of lighting in the original picture maybe?

Yes, there is a small ding inside the P. No, notching on the bottom. Very small spot of Machine Doubling on the top left of P. Oh well ;)
