Thank you all for your opinions! Since I'm new to this, should I have someone take a closer look at this coin? This is out of my roll of wheat cents I bought off of ebay. Would it be worth a buck or two?

My first thought was also die break but Coinfrog has me questioning myself.
I'll defer to Coop's judgment should he choose to enlighten us.

@JC500, have you tried looking at completed ebay sales of similar coins? For sure most wheat cents have a slight (2x-5x) premium over face value. I don't know enough as to whether you would get much of a premium beyond that for this defect.

Thanks Spence. I found a few similar coins on ebay. About $3 or $4 is the asking price. I was just curious as I want to keep it.

This link will show some interior die break examples. I don't see yours listed http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-ce...k-1909-1958/

This one is outside my knowledge. I was gonna say just damage but obviously I'd be wrong! Good luck with this one.

Cheers

I agree with lawest 100% here. It's a Retained Interior Die Break as stated before, not a Lamination error. You can even see the breakage of that piece as well.
Errers and Varietys.

RIDB Mid 50s cents have a lot of them. Call it a cracked skull, maybe a spiked head.
