I'm at EF-45, no sense of luster.

I agree with those at EF-45.

EF 45 unless a fair amount of luster then AU 50. I believe this coin is generally soft struck.

Didn't see this one coming. Part of the learning curve. In retrospect, I can see that the luster is mostly gone.

When I looked at the first two pictures, my first thought was cleaned, but no hairlines visible. If no hairlines on coin from cleaning, it may have been dipped. I put the coin at XF 40/45. It is a money coin and PCGS was very hard on the grading.

I'm guessing they saw the halos around the obverse stars and date as a sign of a previous dip. I'm still at EF45 for the grade.

I get an "invalid barcode" on the slab. The amount of detail on the coin is well above VF, and I can't see PCGS being that far off. Also, the denticles look wrong. This one just feels off. There are only five die pairs for 1895-O, and it can't be VAMs 2, 3, 3A, 4, or 5 because of the date position. I hate to ask this question, but could this be a counterfeit coin in a counterfeit slab?

Guessing they saw hairlines in hand that aren't evident in the photo. I don't think the color alone warrants a details grade.
