The Walker looks fine. The Peace dollar looks like it was dipped and retoned. They probably bagged it due to the carbon residue on the obverse. That's always a risk with a dip - the dreaded black spots. Guessing they felt the Walker was AT?

with fenton. The half looks original and the dollar looks dipped and retoned.

You're in an uncomfortable position here with two details slabs.

They don't look cleaned to me but both look artificially toned - although the TPGs tend to let that go a lot.

Both look beautiful. I wouldn't worry about the grade. Take them out of the slab and enjoy them.

I don't see obvious signs of cleaning. Take them out of the slab, they both have excellent eye appeal.

I agree I am questioning the cleaning? If it was a dip it looks well with in approved Market Grade. Toning maybe they thought it was artificial ? PCGS and TPG's can be so inconsistent to though. I am beginning to question there abilities to be consistent . I almost think PCGS is the worst because they are held in such high regard by so many collectors but that can be another thread and I am sure there are many.

Maybe a "mechanical error"? Code 91 is questionable color and 92 is cleaned. What's that crack down the middle of Liberty's head on the 1924?

All I see is two eye appealing coins that I would be happy to have in a collection. I agree, if the slab label says "details", I would crack them back out and keep them raw. Sometimes it is a shame to waste your money with TPG not to mention the disappointment when they assign such a grade or designation.

The Walker has been cleaned. There are hairlines on obverse around the R,T,Y and the L, I in Liberty. The sun is showing hairlines. That is a tough grade on the Peace dollar with the amazing toning. Check the area around the date and above trust on the Peace dollar under magnification. There are some hairlines above trust, but do not appear enough to give a details grade.
