Are you thinking '45' as a grade, or worth $45? Thanks.

Idk about the variety but looks closer to vf20 details, cleaned.

The OP stated he picked it up for 35$ so I think he's refering to grade.

Appreciate that jdsherod it seem that there are times people will comment without thinking and I mean no offense to anyone but what I mean to say is they are so caught up in the coin they fail to see why it was posted. As to the other questions I was thinking somewhere between 40-45 on the grade as for cleaning I'm not seeing the signs if someone could point it out.

It looks like hairlines on the reverse, also if you look at the corners where the devices meet the fields there appears to be more build up then in the fields and devices them selves which usually indicates cleaned. There are several issues the would detail the coin like environmental damage, scratches, rim dings. I'm not the best at grading these but I can see it being xf.

Edit just for spelling/grammer. I need to learn to proof read more, my auto correct does some weird stuff

I'm at VF20 and not too sure it's the O/S variety, they are usually really easy to see, even on worn pieces.

I'm not see the strong crossbar across the "O" so I dont think this one is the O/S variety.

the 82(O) coins are usually seen with average strikes. I think yours was a little weak so not everything we see on the reverse is from circulation. the toning may be from improper storage.

imo this coin technically is higher than VF20. the wear is just not there for that grade. I think the coin may be in the XF40 range. however, it may pull a details grade due to ED or if you look at the field area below BUS it appears that there may be graffiti which would details the coin even if it passes the ED test.

i understand about your budget. my suggestion is instead of buying higher end coins with possible issues look at lower grade coins that would grade straight. i'd rather have a VF20 straight coin that an XF details coin any day.

EF details, environmental damage. Might clean up with some conservation but probably not worth it here.

Panzaldi take a look at the Vam5 broken picture might not show it's a small area. This coin wasn't a budget issue it was I came across it liked it bought it. I agree I want to say improper storage but man I wish my pics could pick up the luster, even with all it has going against it beautiful. Have given it some thought on a quick dip truth is I wouldn't want it blast I like color so it would be a quick one

grading toned coins from photos is a big challenge as the toning always subdues the luster. it takes good eyes to see through that and in most cases its not possible by photo and why I graded this one XF

I'm not versed in VAM markers for this coin or even if there are any so I'm just going with what I see from your photos

really blurry but I see what you're saying. I'm not sure if there are different looks to an O/S. looking at you first blowup of the MM the left side of the O looks like it took a hit so this could be from pushed metal from that hit

I am at VF30/35. I agree the coin could detail grade ED. You may want to consider soaking the coin in some acetone to get rid of some of the green junk visible on your photos. Do not dip in something like eZest.

I'm with you panzaldi it almost looks like it was struck a second time and I would be more inclined to believe it if it weren't such a weak strike to begin with

I was tossing the same idea around earlier slider23 but like I stated in previous post I'm one of those who like color as opposed to something like blast it's just to much for my eyes

I'll say VF details (rim damage).
