That is a kinda neat idea @ckr. Would you display them as pairs?

Hey Pacificoin I will add these to my list: 1916 Barber dime / 1916 Mercury dime1857 Large Cent / 1857 Flying Eagle centI will not do these ones: 1795 Silver Dollar Flowing Hair / Draped Bust 1793 Chain and Wreath / 1793 Liberty HD Cent Only because I do not care for them. I might do these if the price is correct: 1873 Seated dollar / 1873 Trade dollar1878 Morgan dollar / 1878 Trade dollar1865 3 Cent Silver / 1865 3 Cent Nickel 1839 Coronet Head / 1839 Braided Large Cent 1913 Liberty nickel is NOT A legitimate circulation issue . I know but that does not mean it does not count. Best have very deep pockets for a mint state 1916 Standing Quarter . I know but I am willing to wait.

Morgan & Peace dollars, 1921, is another one. Hey halfamind I will not do these ones since I do not care for dollar coins. I will collect them as part of the dollar series but not as part of the design change.

Sounds like it could get really expensive ! Certainly a novel idea for a collection . Once saw a first and last issue set along the same Idea . Was an eye popper!

Hey jacrispies I might do the 1807 and 1839 coins. I will not do the 1796 coins since I do not have any interest in them. The 1798 do not count since only the backs change. 1796 Liberty Cap and Draped Bust cents 1798 Large Eagle and Small Eagle dollars (not sure if this counts, only the reverse changes) 1807 Draped Bust and Capped Bust halves 1839 Capped Bust and Seated halves

Hey Pacificoin I will not be going after every single set of coins that had a design change. Just the ones that interest me. Also for most of them I am perfectly happy with lower condition coins. As long as I can see the date and the design is visible I am okay with it being circulated as long as it is not a slick or cull coin. The only coin I want in high grade is the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter. If one coin I want is $50 and another is $400 as long as I can see the date and design I am okay with the $50 coin.

It's a good idea for a collection. So you can show everyone how the US coins have changed throughout history (or most of it).
