Quote: In China the manufacture of replica and fake coins of China is fair game This irrelevant for the purposes of selling on ebay. ebay prohibits replica coins of any kind, whether marked copy or not, whether disclosed in the listing or not. Here is a direct quote of ebay's policy: "Replica coins are not allowed." and "Counterfeit or altered coins and currency are not allowed."

Laser scanned digital model dies can be detected, if you know what to look for. It is not the digital model that reveals the fake, it is the mechanical stylus method by which the dies a re cut, or by spark erosion cut dies.
Generally speaking, second generation copies are always a little less distinct in their detail.

Quote:Here is a direct quote of ebay's policy: "Replica coins are not allowed." and "Counterfeit or altered coins and currency are not allowed." and yet ebay has this entire section in the coins & currency area on their site... https://www.ebay.com/b/Replica-Repr...0/bn_2313657Full of garbage that is at least noted it's all replica and fake. **EDIT** I did find this page: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/...licy?id=5042It's okay to sell fake replica currency only as long as you follow their policies now. Fake/replica coins are NEVER allowed to be listed. I report everyone of them I find and copy this into the comment on the report site, at least whomever gets the report will see the rules right in front of them if they forgot.

No surprise. All of the Chinese fakes are available thru Amazon, AliExpress, and now Temu. The battle is lost. ebay is relatively safe now.

Some of the Chinese counterfeit operations are actually encouraged and subsidized by the CCP. Time for the entire world to dump the CCP and its products. Counterfeit everything, poison in our foods, they need to go!

Unfortunately not just collectibles, but many items are faked in China, whether valuable or not, and worst of all even daily consumable.
