Ok, now I see also the head has S to N. For the past posts you has, I think IMHO each coin could be different. I do not know them. In general I do say nothing if it is not a Quarter, except metalic problems. But this coin really I like and I wait to know exact the Diagnostic. One think is sure we has here HD, DDO and MD. The all three combine I never see before, two of each toghether yes but not three. Very nice find and I hope your coin will be an 62 or 63

Just MD and plating issues, no hub doubling.

It just doesn't all fit together in my very humble, uneducated opinion. Top of head goes North, nose goes East (triple strike).IGWT goes East and not towards rim. Liberty goes North and not towards rim. Chin goes South. In other words , another spender. Thanks..

with DDD as the die wears out and stretches a bit, the devices will tend to double down and head off in the direction of the nearest rim , hence why you see the 'doubling moving in all directions.

jfeed, in my response, I said MD and plating issues, which it is both, I was just simplifying the "plating" part and should not have. The correct term for the plating issue is "Plating Disturbance Doubling". Here is a link. https://www.error-ref.com/other-forms-of-doubling/

I'm seeing rather pronounced Die Deterioration issues. Nice example. Suggest keeping it as a reference piece.

From one point of view @MAKE: you are right, except that "hybrid between blistered plating and split plating doubling" (error.com ) has an space between the rise design and the planchet field. Here it is the most hard part of analysis of the plated Zinc coins. Only in hand coin can show well what it is.
MAKE put a very good and logic point here, but hard to decide this point just by photos.

Quote: Dearborn, how can a die move in 4 directions during only one strike? Each time the die strikes a planchet, extreme pressure is applied - outward from the center to the collar, eventually the devices wear out moving from the center towards the rim in a circular way. Quote: Die Deterioration Doubling may completely surround an affected design element (like a number or letter) or may be restricted to one side. Here read this: https://www.error-ref.com/die-deter...on-doubling/
