Yes maybe, but it will depend a bit of how long they have been there and what the specific makeup of the finger oil was I suspect.

I can't remember if I mentioned this or not.
I had all three Centennial coins at one time, a couple years ago is when I flipped them for some rare ASE sets I needed to complete my OGP sets, a couple of the rarer congrats sets. Some of these are really pricey, even in OGP form.
Now that my set is a complete as I think an OGP set can be, I'd like to get these back in my collection.
So I'm pretty familiar with the Centennial coins.
Since it's unusual that it's just a loose coin, I think I got a decent deal. I made an offer that was rejected, I just decided to hold off. Then he later did make an offer to me and I decided to get it and order the OGP. It'll be kind of nice to get the coin back in to the OGP again.

Well you have me there. I have done a bit of this type of thing, typically it has just been bad appearing or used even incorrect OGP boxes, typically the outer box. I get in to these product codes and have ended up buying coins with wrong boxes. Probably mixed up at a coin shop, and a lot of people don't care.
The biggest project I've had with OGP capsules is when I made that "fantasy set" 2015 LESPS, all the quarters had to come out of a 2015 silver proof set and be put in to 2016 LESPS capsules. I even wrecked one and had to get the proper one from a buddy.
At any rate, I would hope the capsule would show any finger print or crack.
I guess if it's bad, I'll just have to source another correct capsule. They are out there, if you know where to look.
I'm still thinking on just giving it a hot/boiling water bath and rinse with distilled water and letting it air dry, just to be sure there's no gunk on it I can't see.
OGP was expected (WI) today, just left Opa Locka FL yesterday evening, so I don't think so.

The ebay seller I bought from had several, so I didn't get to see the exact one I'm getting. The ebay pics showed the capsule, so I added a note to make sure there is a capsule.
The set I bought was about $20. You can get them for half that without the capsule, I imagine because if you don't send it in for grading in a sealed box, you send it in in the capsule and don't ask for it back?
And if you submit in the sealed box, your have to pay to get the OGP back, and many people probably don't request it.
I'm still really curious how the shop who sold me the coin itself, ended up with this loose coin in a flip. Anyone think of how that happened?
