You guys are all ridiculous and Debbie downer's. This was graded at 65 by NGC, OH. Figured you guys would just low shoot everything and I need conformation of that.

keep in mind grading by photo is significantly different that in hand. we can't rotate the coin and eliminate glare. I had the coin at MS64BN mainly due to the coin looks like it was handled and oils transferred to surfaces

First you said it was graded by a guy out of his basement and later you say it was graded by NGC. Which is it? Certainly doesn't look MS-65 from the pics provided. Here is a link to the PCGS photograde for Indian Head cents. You compare.

It's a bit difficult to tell because the holder reflections somewhat obscure the coin's surface. It does look like an older NGC holder.

Based on the pictures, it looks like there is some slight wear on the high points, which would make it high AU. If it grades MS, I'd guess MS 63 BN.

I know you said it was graded MS-65 BN. The strike seems a bit weaker than some of the other MS-65 Indian Head cents on Heritage Auctions and PCGS Photograde. Again, that might be reflections in the picture.

Either way it's a nice coin!

Not a coin I would ever pay MS-65 price for. I haven't seen a 100% batting average on any of the TPG coins. That's why you buy the coin and not the holder.

OP, TPG's opinions are informed opinions. So are the opinions of many here - informed by over decades of individual experience and centuries of collective experience. If you are only interested in the TPG opinions because theirs are the only correct ones, I don't know what you would get out of your participation here. Pointing out that a TPG opinion differs from that of other experts here, does not make the TPG opinion more correct. TPG graders are fallible just like every other person on earth. As far as I know, being hired by a TPG as a grader does not convey a badge of absolute grading infallibility.

Probably NNC, not NGC

NNC is a literal basement slabber well known for overgrading coins.
