To CCF! What are you seeing? I'm not seeing anything unusual. Looks like a normal 1964 Philly minted nickel.

Edit: Could be a early stage Dryer Coin.

I've never came across a nickel with sharp profound edges. Was wondering if it was a Special Strike?

Yep, that's a Dryer Coin. This cannot happen during the minting process.

You can see the coin but you gotta feel the edges. I've worked in restaurants for a long time and when I felt this coin I just had to have it and I've been wondering about it for a while. Thank you for the advice. I'll keep it I my collection. &

Either a Dryer Coin or a "spooned" nickel someone was going to make a ring out of but gave up.

If you compare it to a normal nickel you will see that it is slightly smaller in diameter.

Yep, with the above, but can add...

When we see this in the title:

Quote:
no mint mark

You would be meaning the Philadelphia mint

The mintmark on 1964 and earlier nickels with the exception of the 1942-1945 silver War Nickels would always be on the reverse to the far right of the Monticello building next to the rim. The mintmarks were transferred to the obverse below the date beginning in 1968...

Please, no more images. It's clear this is a Dryer Coin.
