I am trying to figure out how to upload the seller's pictures, as popularly demanded, but am having trouble reducing the file to meet the upper size limits for posting. I will post as soon as possible. Thanks for your patie

Thanks, madzdad71. However, you must realize that you are attempting to direct someone decidedly low-tech. I have difficulty navigating such technologies as light switches and coat hangers and, thus, your doubtlessly clear instructions went zooming past my meager comprehension. But let me try another way:

Ahh! Apparent success! Hurray for life's little victories...

Thanks! Any idea on how rare this one may be, or it's value? I know of know way, or no free, online sites, to find values of error coins.

I believe that in the back of current Red Books you can find there is some values for wrong planchets. You can maybe search completed items on ebay. Use nickel struck on cent as keywords.
I see they are listed on ebay. Looks like a 250. coin to me, as it is quite a bit older, yet cleaned. My guesstimate.

Wheezydog, thank you for the suggestion of the Red Book. I never would have thought to look there. You've made a good resource even better. Now all I have to do is to commit next weekend to learning how to read.

I didn't find this one. I just purchased it. It should be arriving within the week. This 1953 coin is a birth year error, just like its new owner! Again, thanks for all of the information, guidance, and sharing.

I'm thinking Nickel roll/bags. The run was for Nickels and a Cent planchet got into the hopper with Nickel ones.

Coop, what are the chances this is or was done on purpose. We all know the Mint has had some people who did some interesting things.
Also, nice error coin, did you also buy yours?

They happen rarely, thus the premium for them. They could have been intentionally done or just a planchet that was left over in a hopper. But they do happen either way. I wonder how many are caught before they get out?

The coin pictured was a gift from a relative. He knew I like coins and gave me this one with some old Large Mexico Copper. He found the other coins in a well and has several hundreds of them. Unfortunatley they are not as valuable as this coin.
