I see that his gold grading skills are up to the same rigid standards that he applies on other coins...

With his talents at grading,..I could see him calling that 13 a possible 'super rare PL obverse'. ..or why not go whole hog and declare it a possible "First Strike".. Gotta love his grading...

Here's a response I received asking a question in an email back in January: Quote: ...and we'll consult with our grading team...

What we fail to remember is that his "scale" adds a # every year and he's now working from ~80 and then downwards... So for him a 65 is really a lower graded coin now..Wait till next year... .. Like the Limbo.."How Low Can He Go"..

Yes, and when your package comes with a brown ring soaked into it, he has to consult his "coffee team".

As a coin shop owner and one who uses ebay as an eCommerce portal, I for one do not include detailed grades unless graded by one of the well known grading services. I may on occasion identify an UNC coin if I feel that is obvious. My listing pictures are generally sufficient for the buyer to have a good look at the coin, I encourage questions and on the most part I try to identify flaws. Not only do I not grade online, I generally don't "grade mark" raw coins at the store either. If a customer has interest in one of the raw coins, we look at it together and come up with a deal that works for both of us. I think if an ebay vendor makes the occasional mistake and rectifies it, it's fine. However when one comes across vendors who mislead, over market and make frequent "errors", one needs to be cautious. The feedback in in this particular case speaks for itself.

I thought it was against ebay rules to list a grade in the item description if not certified by a vetted TPG. Have things changed?

Welcome to CCF TheCoinHunter,
Are you a dealer who frequents the larger coin shows (e.g., Nuphilex or Coin Expo)?
