Hello. What do you think about this Indian cent? It is proof strike? Coin shines, but only at "flat" surface and it doesn't look like polishing. Also, it doesn't look like normal "circle" mint luster, but more like "mirror". Pics aren't too good, but the colors look like in real. Flat surface has brightly yellow-brown color (with some blue at obverse), with light it looks perfectly yellow/gold. Indian head and wreath at reverse have purple, magenta and blue color. I took some pics with another IHC's to compare color and shine. One of them is cleaned and looks red with little shine, another is perfectly brown. Can you grade this coin for me? Thanks.

Certainly doesn't look like a proof to me. Looks more like cleaning/chemical damage to me. just doesn't seem natural.

I too didn't think proof, unless it was an impaired proof that may have gone into circulation. The rims and denticles don't look proof, it is certainly not due to the look over all the reflective surfaces says probably polished or whizzed then toned over, probably with heat or chemicals. Closer larger photos would allow us to better look into proof die diagnostics and markings to be sure.

People sure like to mess with Indians, the chocolate 1907 looks decent. 1906 is artificially toned and the other 1907 has been touched up just a bit.
