Dime Error Repost With Photo (Thank You!) Broadstrike?

sarah766384637 New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 02/11/2014 2:17 pm I am trying to figure out if this dime would be categorized as a "strike error." Because the rim/edge is not present in the crescent shape smooth portion along the bottom of the obverse side, I thought it might be a broadstrike error. All help is greatly appreciated. pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 02/11/2014 4:41 pm One thing to keep in mind is a broadstrike error occurs when the collar malfunctions and does not form the edge of the coin. On a dime the collar forms the reeded edge so a dime broadstrike will not have the reeding on the edge. I am guessing the coin pictured above has reeding. Report this Post to the Staff
