when I questioned the post office they said you areinsyred but the one they offer through ebay is an outside company most likely owned by ebay and they do not insur. you have to purchase at postoffice

I am not sure where it say that USPS insurance doesn't cover numismatic coin. Under their claims sections they say that insurance will pay "For stamps and coins of philatelic or numismatic value; the fair market value is determined by a recognized stamp or coin dealer or current coin and stamp collectors' newsletters and trade papers. The date of the fair market value determination must be current and prior to the mailing date."

On the coin, I think it grades around VF-35 to EF-40.

I think maybe the fact that you bought it from a guy selling it for $60 and the fact that it sold for $61 means maybe it's actually worth $60. Looking at recent completed auctions it's anywhere from $50-90 and most of those are in TPG holders.

To durable what meant was I will sell fixed price. I have great success. Yes I've broken even on a few to change inventory but never lost. If I put that coin for $125.00 it might take a month or two to sell but they sell eventually. If you check some of my posts I couldn't believe people were buying 1922 weak d,s so as an experiment I bought that had a strong date and almost no d. I paid $17.00 with shipping started at $200 dropped to $150 and sold for $100. This paid for a months of my cancer pain meds so it may be small potatoes to some but part for money but it's also fun. All I've gotta say to this whole thread is this;

You make money when you buy the coin, not when you sell it. In other words, if you wanted to flip, you simply overpaid.

EDIT: Any time I've sold a coin, I've done 99c auctions. I've lost money on maybe two coins out of a few hundred.
