Not long ago a dealer at a coin show gave me an Whitman Classic Mercury dime Album for nothing since he knew me and knew I have many, many duplicates. I went home and filled the entire book from duplicates in 2x2's and plastic rolls. That was Merc #9. Another dealer that was at that show said if it's Whitman Albums I want, he will bring me a hugh pile of them. At the last coin show last Weekend in a place called Countryside, Il. he did just that. He had 3 large boxes of them and said I could have as many as I wanted. I took about 40 of them, took two trips to my car since they are heavy and I am old. One was a Mercury dime Album and after a little more work at home here, it to is now complete from duplicates and still probably a few thousand left in rolls and 2x2's. Next I will work on the many other Albums from him. This makes me wonder if I have way to many duplicates. Anyone else out there this loaded with duplicates? Prior to that show I had 97 Whitman Albums and now many, many more. Is this dumb or what?

If you have to rent space to house the duplicates, or if they would block your escape in case of fire, or if you have prolonged conversations with them, you have too many. Otherwise, it sounds fine to me.

That would be nice! lol. The only mercs I have are four loose ones that my grandpa gave me and a whitman book (partially filled)that's on loan. I'm supposed to try and fill in the holes if I come across any. All of his coins are part of the inheritance so anything I'll get I'll have to try to get from my dad. Still fun to look at.

You know, Carl, you've got so many duplicates that you could flood the market and drive down prices if you ever decided to sell. LOL

Almost feels like the truth. For example those about 1 foot long red cardboard boxes with 2 rows for 2x2's. I have 9 of them filled to the point there is little room to see what the coins are. Then there is well over 30 rolls of just 1943 Lincoln Cents, about 100 rolls of Unc Cents, Plastic rolls of almost every denomination. Not to long ago I had 25 giveaways on the PCGS forum in an attempt to reduce this massive bulk. I did give away all commemoratives, thousands of wheat cents and just lots of other coins. All due to a recent medical situation where I thought my time was up. Might just do that again soon. Started collecting in 1943 and it may well be time.

Carl...I hope your medical condition is stable or improving. The Coin World needs you! Hunter Thanks for the concern. Always wonder who will get this mess someday. So far my last batch of cat scans, bone scans, X-rays, blood tests all show no more cancer so I hope this is the last of that stuff. After loosing bladder, prostate, lymph nodes, nerves, I think it's time for that stuff to go away. Might be why I just keep on buying new coins. I'll show that cancer stuff it can't scare me.
