I think $2 bills are cool. I remember when I was a kid, late sixties, someone showed me one for the first time and I thought it was so cool. Then in '76(?) when they started making them again I thought it was great. Obviously they never caught on, I guess the average folks don't care for them or whatever.

Question: Have $2 ever circulated? Maybe back in the 30s, 40s, and 50s? Anybody know?

They still circulate about as much as half Dollars. No one wants them and there is no place to put them in a register drawer

But they sure are fun to spend
Rest in Peace

I have often heard them referred to as "Racetrack" Bills used for betting the $2.00 window at horse racing tracks. Over the years I have picked up quite a few in change but I just spend them. Mike

I spend them whenever I get my hands on some. I try to get them when I can at the bank or as change if I notice they have one or two. I just like spending them.

I worked at the New York World Fair in the summer of 1965 I used to get paid in $2 bills. It was fun paying the cashiers in stores where I shopped with them-

The police were called three times that summer to verify the bills were real.

Now I buy rolls of Presidential dollars and do the same thing

it is fun to watch the expressions on the retailers faces when they examine the new coins

I can always get stack of 50 or more at the bank (in CU condition). I do more plastic transaction than cash, but when I have chances, I do spend them.... people get excited to have a few. BUT one time, I brought in 20 notes (in CU condition) to exchange for two $20 bills at the Lucky Supermarket and the cashier won't do it.... she said "it's hard to get rid of them"... and I was like "what the...." I went down to the Starbuck store and the girls were excited to have them.....

It's all depend, I guess.

This is the season when the banks carry crisp, uncirculated $2 bills and other modern currancies because people like to give them as gifts. Makes a nice stocking stuffer!!

I spend them everywhere. The most common forms of currency in my pocket for spending are $2 bills, half dollar coins, and dollar coins.

I use them if I can find them. Most banks dont ordor them and I need wait intill they are turned in before I get them. Most are all 2003 or 1995 notes and sometimes I find an 1976 note. I never found an 1963 red seal yet.

Most the ones I find are trashed or wore. If I find good ones I put them in my stash to be never spent again. My collection I have some the numbers are same right after the next bill. Those are going stay togethor to given as gifts after I frame them in an picture frame. They will never used as spending money again will used as wall decorations for the rest of the there life.

I did hear an rumor an the us goverment has printed up an new batch dated 2006 on those. I never seen an 2006 two dollar bill yet. I hope I can find an batch of those new ones to see what they look like compared to old ones.

Chevrolet, let me see if I can help you. Let me check my banks. If I can get a stack of 2006 I will send you one note. If you want more than one I will send them to you for face value. I may not know until next week.
Please let me know if you are interested.

I have quite a few $2 bills. All I have since series 1963 are pretty decent and don't look like they ever circulated very heavily. However, I've got some series 1928 and series 1953 that are pretty cruddy (especially the 1928s). They definitely circulated very extensively at some point in history.

I use to get 2 dollar bills at the track this was in the eighties. You dont see 2 dollar bills at the track I bet but you will get halfs mostly in the late 90's.

The 'declaration of independence' scene on the reverse of the 1976 $2 bill is impressive. I've kept a bunch of them in Choice BU condition for posterity...
just because they are so beautiful!
