Poll Question
Do you collect foreign or U.S. coins? Why? What got you started on collecting?

US Coins. As I posted in your "absolute favorite coin" thread, it was the Eisenhower dollars my dad gave me that got me started For me as a kid, the easiest way to acquire coins was through circulation, so the US collecting was the norm! But I also have quite a few foreign coins. The Canadian coins came circulation when living in border states when I was younger. The others are almost all gifts from friends or family that traveled abroad. Hey, it's a cheap gift and I was still thrilled! That said, I have never sought them out, while the US coins are the ones I actively seek out!

I'd say US coins make up about 1% of my collection if that. The only ones I collect are in my 7070 and any WW2 Commemoratives. My main focus is OFEC then one from every KM# as well as WW2 Commemoratives being a side note to my entire collection. I hope to one day own every single WW2 Comm ever made....which is around 500-750 I believe. How about you?

I like coins, tokens, and medals. While my focus shifts around a little over long periods of time, I couldn't choose just one or another. Right now most of my focus is on all modern US and world coins but this will probably evolve over time. Of course there are a few older series and even some tokens that are getting some attention now as well.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Yes. US and World coins. I got started as a kid with Lincoln cents and Jefferson nickels, to keep up with my older sister.

Your question is ambiguous. I live in Australia. US coins are weird foreign coins, to me. It's Australian coins that are perfectly normal.

I'm with Sap and justabeginner, except Australian coins aren't normal for me anymore, but they were for a time. Now the Canadian coins are normal.

I collect mainly US coins, however if a foreign coin or note crosses my path, they're mine. I can let go of US coins but the foreign ones I hold on to since I don't have access to them like the US ones. Same concept as Sap but different coins.

I have always collected US coins, but over the last few years, I developed a love of Roman Imperial Coinage. Does that count as foreign?

My collection consists of 50% U.S. Coins and 50% Foreign coins. My favorite coins are my foreign bi-metalic coins.

US only, unless some random coin comes up in my roll searching. Once I have the sets I want done in US, i'll take a look at others. That will be like 60 years from now lol.
