Ok folks, what are your thoughts? These are the only pictures that I have, so I apologize for the angled photos.

Tights,
I agree with the MS-64. The cheek is not pretty but the fields are nice. Very nice CC.

Yeah, if it's slab-able I see MS-64 also, but it's got a mottled look on the obverse, caused by?...toning? glue? PVC? dipping? rubbing? sliding? storage?

I think the look on the Obverse may be a touch up on the picture in photoshop (I could be wrong but thats what it looks like to me)

I don't think the pictures have been doctored at all. I think it's a pretty clean example. Just not sure about the cheek chatter and if they are being accentuated by the angle/lighting.

Hi Tighe, The reverse looks unc to me but the dull luster and lack of detail in the hair over Liberty's ear make the obverse look AU-ish. The dull fields could just be the photo and the weak hair detail could be strike-related, but if I have to pitch a grade based on these photos I'll go with a slider: AU-58.

Here are some pics now that I have it in hand. Sorry, but I didn't do anything with lighting on these for better shots. I'm thinking it may be dipped from these pictures, but it doesn't look like it was when in hand. Thoughts again please?

I would go MS-64 . Nice clean fields obv and rev, but that chatter on the cheek might hold it from a 65. That's a beauty ! Some very heavy clash marks on this one, I have never looked at the CC VAM's.....I don't have any CC's yet, so can't help ya there. Great coin !

Tights, I am in agreement with MS64. The Carson City mint put out some amazing Morgans with razor-sharp devices and deeply mirrored fields. Have you checked it over for VAMs. The dash under the second 8 and clash on the neck make me want to call it a 3A. Here's the pic from VAMWorld.

I'm thinking VAM-5A or 8A, SeatedNut, based on the alignment of the mint mark. VAM-3 and VAM-4 have crooked mint mark placements. Either way, it sure looks like a transferred-letter clash. Not super-desirable, but interesting all the same.

If the seller had had your photos Tighe he probably could have gotten a better price! They are much more flattering to the coin. It now looks MS and well-struck to boot. The contact marks on the cheek and neck and on the eagle's breast would keep it in MS-63 territory, but high-end for the grade.

All true, but I'm bothered by the halos around the obverse stars.

Yup ... I would agree with 5A due the eagle's beak. I don't see all the clashes that are associated with the 8A. Of course I'm a lot older and my eyes don't work like they used to.

MS60/64. MS60 overall due to the obverse. I don't think it would get nograde, but it might get slabbed as "scratches".
