There's an 89cc 63pl at great collections right now. It's been on for a month and ends today or tomorrow. Last I looked it was at 30k

Shaf2b, I'm curious why these aren't in secure slabs?

Cascade is asking about PCGS Secure slabs. It's a higher-level of seurity offered by PCGS.

just put them in safe deposit box. will also insure them. any thoughts on specialist coin insurers?

I would recommend contacting Hugh Wood INC about insuring your coins. They do specialize in insuring coins. They will require you to become a member of ANA before they will insure your coins.

Your 89CC PL is an amazing rare coin.

Just an amazing collection that I am envious of to say the least. Check ebay and great collections for the 79cc, 93cc. I hope you can finish it I would love to see a full set. I'd also reconsider sending the 89cc back for a regrade or cac approved sticker. Good luck.

Beautiful coins and I really like the toning on the 1885 and it would be an awesome and expensive collection when completed.

Thanks for all the feedback. I guess I didn't ask for secure service when I sent some of the coins to PCGS. I PROB SHOULD HAVE PAID THE EXTRA $5 OR SO.an oversight

I don't know your ,but if you are younger than 40 you have at least 25-30 years to finish your collection and with the really high grade coins you already own you could do a complete mint/date Morgan collection that could become very valuable by the time you pass it on or cash it in for retirement. This could be a life time quest. I would not sell these coins to buy a house or for someone's college education. I think the longer you hold them and the more complete your set becomes the more valuable it will become in time.
Morgans are probably the most collectable coins in the USA.

If I had to do things over again I think I'd sell every other non-early-copper coin I own and put the money into DMPL's.

These sorts of visions come to us late in life usually for me. I wanted to buy and sell collectables back about 16 years ago and collected quite a few nice pieces of silver, but I sold it all. I did not realize that I needed to be patient and wanted to flip things to make a quick buck. I lost a lot of quick bucks because silver prices really went through the roof a few years ago and I had bought silver for about $7 an ounce.

I'm officially jealous!! GREAT coin!! You should consider putting together a set of GSA Morgans, in the CC mint.

Once this set is complete I would loan it to the Nevada State Museum in Carson City (formerly the cc mint building) They have the security and insurance to keep the set safe and many, many collectors will enjoy seeing them. I bet they would create a killer little display for it right next to the very first cc coin press that is still in operation at the museum
