I bought this coin a few days ago for $5

Great buy for $5..

Needs a touch of acetone though, I'll bet if touched up would make AU-50
Rest in Peace

Acetone will not help this coin. I'm going to stick my neck out on this one and say a 24 hour soak in Verdi-Care only.

Agree. Can't quite figure out the color here. Might not be such a good buy if the coin is actually as dark as it appears and Verdi-Care doesn't work.

Great buy, might make Au-53. Really hard to say when it's this dark and not in hand.

Weak strike, but still pulls a hefty XF-45, IMHO... That being said, for $5 you got a STEAL!

EF-45, very early die state....assuming it's genuine. The color looks off, the portrait is unusually sharp, the MM is VERY low..... but the O in ONE looks like the real deal.

AU50 maybe 53. Looks like a lot of oxidation most likely improper storage in a humid environment...maybe verdicare would help

Some of that darkness could be the light. It appears to have mint luster between Y of LIBERTY and Lincoln's back, with brightening around the date area that looks like luster also. On the reverse along the outside of the left wheat ear and up into E PLUR also looks luster-like. I give it an AU-50 (dark)

Nice buy for $5 and I bet there is a seller who is a little upset it didn't fetch more.
