Poll Question
Would you rather have a PCGS MS66 RB 1955 cent or a PCGS PO-01 1955 cent? So which do you choose?

I'm a big fan of honestly circulated coins ... and perhaps becoming known as a lowball collector ... although I have plenty of lovely MS pursuits as well. Prefer to view myself as a knowledgeable collector in both worlds. I voted PCGS PO01 ... that would be a lovely addition indeed to my lowball set of USA coinage. David

Just can't imagine a PO-01 '55 cent, or even a straight G-04, for that matter. I'd like to see one, graded or not, so I'll have to vote for it.

Same here. You can find a 66 RB anywhere, but a PO-01 isn't something you see every day.

I'd have to go for the conditional rarity in this case, given that the two options are the same price.

They are both conditional rareties. However one is fixed, the other is variable. MS66 cents are one of a kind (figure of speech), there are only as many out there as there are now, there will never be any more. While there may be few PO-01's now, who knows, there could be thousands in 2055

The way I see it, coins are being used less and less these days, so most of the remaining wheats in circulation will probably be pulled before they reach VF or F.
A suggestion for the mods- the US modern forum may be a more appropriate place for this topic.

Who here has seen a PCGS 1955 PO 01 cent? What about a Wheat cent dated after 1929 graded PO 01 by PCGS? Now tell me how many MS 66 you can find.

I just can't get into the loball thing, although I can already hear the plastic cracking on that 66 holder.

I voted for PO-1 . As stated above 55 unc's are all over the place ,but when was the last time you saw a certified 55 lowball .

Quote: Now tell me how many MS 66 you can find. The population of PCGS MS66 1955 RB cents is 5 with none finer. As I said before, I don't think that is going to change much. Give me a few years and I will have a handful of PO-1's for you. Quote:I can't recall ever seeing a Wheat cent in Poor 1 slab, much less a 50s Wheat cent. I would suspect, only because, who pays $30 to have a worn out, beat up old Wheat cent graded? Not because they are so rare
