Neither. My vote would go to Shield nickels. But if I had to pick, I would go with the copper.

Muckeye
I was able to answer on behalf of the Australians

My answer old copper (OK BRONZE) cents

I mean Pennys

If Americans can call there one cent pieces than I believe the Australians should be able to call their Pennys Cents

Yes I collect the old "copper cents" only they are Australian Bronze Pennys

Oh yes they are large but all things are relative!

Completely useless poll. You would need at least 10 varieties and naturally all small, modern, US cents would be way, way up at the top of the list.

It appears to me that jeremymh is trying to make a decision between the two for his own collection. If that is the case, I voted for the old coppers. Just my opinion. I think there are a lot of Morgan collectors out there, but fewer old copper collectors. IMHO, I think the coppers would be more challenging.

The best thing to collect is what you like the most.

All else being equal the best thing to collect is what no one else does.
