Has anyone heard about this or found one yet? http://wtnh.com/2016/10/20/bank-pla...h-1000-each/Basically, Ally Bank had placed 100 tokens into circulation with a turn in value of $1000. I am curious if anyone had found one yet? It looks like they only placed them in major Cities across the country. "The pennies have been placed in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Miami, Denver, Detroit, San Diego, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Austin, Texas." If this is true good luck hunting/cherry picking! I don't know what you would call it?! This is kind of awesome!

Smacks of counterfeiting though. Intentionally putting fake coins into commerce?

It looks like you only get the end of the year to turn them in.

Just heard about it on the radio this morning. They mentioned something about putting them on the ground.

Well,,,,, our CCF Michiganders should have a better chance of winning. LOL With all of the questions , how can they legally pull this off? I believe John1 will be buying a number of boxes. or switching to Ally Bank.

What is the problem? It is a token. There is no intent for anyone to consider it legal tender. They put them on the ground to be found. I am sure their lawyers checked out any possible illegalities.

They are not replacing any actual currency with these. They leave them lying on the ground and if you find one, you return it to them. Even the NORFED farce where the government was trying to convict the owner on counterfeiting charges has been labeled as a mistake, and the millions illegally stolen by the FBI was either, or is officially slated to be, returned. The NORFED tokens were being used as actual currency in some areas. These new tokens are just laying on the ground. Hmm...wonder how many Chinese counterfeits of these tokens ALLY will get?
