With Apologies to AA

This is my daily creed

One coin at a time

forgive me I am a darksider and Collect Non US coins.

* Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - to
coins, tokens and banknotes - that our lives had become
unmanageable

* Step 2 - Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves
could restore us to sanity

* Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to
the care of The Coin community

* Step 4 - Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of
ourselves and our coins, banknotes and tokens

* Step 5 - Admitted to The Coin Community, to ourselves and to
another human being the exact nature of our wrongs and what we
collected

* Step 6 - Were entirely ready to have The members of the Coin
Community remove all these defects of character

* Step 7 - Humbly asked The Coin community to remove our coins
graded less than EF 40 MS 63 Unc, through the process
of buy sell or trade

* Step 8 - Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became
willing to make amends to them all

* Step 9 - Made direct amends to such people wherever possible,
except when to do so would injure them or others or lower the
value of their collections

* Step 10 - Continued to take personal and collection inventory
and when we were wrong promptly admitted it and replaced any
wrongfully purchased coins with better ones

* Step 11 - Sought through purchase, bidding and begging to
improve our collections with the help of the Coin Community,
asking only for knowledge of the Community to carry that out

* Step 12 - Having had an awakening as the result of these steps,
we tried to carry this message to other Numismatists, and to
practice these principles in all our affairs
Rest in Peace

A support group for our wives would probably get more support.

I regret to inform you most of us are married to our collections.

We try to keep them healthy, dry and well kept at all times.
We keep them housed as best we can
2x2s, slabbed, trayed, boxed and even air tight.

we get jealous of similar coins.

Our significant others on the other hand do get treated well just after we spend "just one more minute finishing up"

so if you are part of this group and have a significant other
it is most likely - you are in a polygamists relationship

I was just thinking along these lines at work this morning. When does it cross the line from healthy hobby to dangerous obsession?

"Alas, I have crossed that line dear friend, and I doubt I will ever find my way back."

Not when us wives are confiscating the hubbie's pocket change until we can search through it

all that dampness - moisture could ruin your coins

The Nile (Arabic: #1575;#1604;#1606;#1610;#1604;#8206;, transliteration: an-n#299;l, Ancient Egyptian iteru, Coptic piaro or phiaro) is a major north-flowing river in Africa, generally regarded as the longest river in the world.

why would you want to keep your coins in
de Nile?

Okay......I'm glad there's a place identified now to have our "addiction meetings", but......
should I bring my girlfriend into the wondrous world of my addiction......or let her stare at me with a disapproving look from afar as I spend my (potentially "our") money on these endeavors ?
And I don't want to hurt her fingers......I like her fingers !..
