PCGS has been gun-shy about large cent obverse varieties. It has been suggested to them several times. Maybe some day.

Very nice set bosox super set, it does seem funny that PCGS will not recognize the obverse dies especially 1884 and 1886 the research and studies are done and the markers are very easy to tell the difference with the N in Regina

Jim, I would welcome them adding all the obverse varieties from all the Vicky years to the set. I have them all.

I agree totally Rob, I am holding some coins back from PCGS grading for that reason hopefully soon they will venture into the large cent obverse varieties and other varieties like the 1859's it would bring on lots of work for them

Jim, a few years ago I set up a "Collector's Showcase" in which to accumulate the obverse varieties. I updated it today. Of course, the obverse varieties are not noted on the holders, but I listed them in the comments. You can find it here: https://www.PCGS.com/SetRegistry/co...mon-cents/73

Thanks for the kind thoughts, guys. As some of you know, this is a set I have worked on for nearly forty years. It is pretty satisfying to complete it, that is until PCGS adds some more varieties to it. Luckily I have some of the other varieties in reserve.
