Here's one I cherrypicked a few weeks ago that's an unattributed Stage D FS-502 (S/S/S RPM; http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20...SRPM002.htm).

Late die state obverse provides the soft obverse strike.

Slight discoloration above the date. Freckles on the reverse.

In hand, is the obverse and reverse color actually different? (or just lighting for pictures playing with my eyes)

64RD, the issue is the right, obverse field. I can't tell if those marks are on the slab or coin.

The discoloration above the date is certainly enhanced by the combination of light and the slab. These are seller's photos - I'm still working out a photo set-up at home!

From the photo in the whole slab, I'd have to update my guess to full RD now, but MS65? Wow, I have a lot of early 1930's LHC from original rolls, maybe they might be worthy of getting graded if PCGS is grading them this easy now. I have most of mine at MS63/64 but maybe I could get some 65/66 grades on the better pieces? Hmmm.

Congrats!

westcoin - Be careful. You've got to get 66 or 67 to justify regrading for most dates in this era. 65 won't cut it.

I purchased it as a slabbed coin, only because of the RPM, and certainly not at the PCGS valuation for the grade. No idea when it was graded (or can that be determined from the info on the slab?).

Coinfrog, I know! I also know none of the cets I have would make MS67 and probably wouldn't make 66 either, that's why I use them in trades mostly for other coins I want when I'm short of funds. I'd be crazy to waste $300-400 grading a bunch, then when return the total value is the cost it took to grade them. Hate playing the gamble on coins that have just as good of a chance of barely breaking even afterwards, and the upside would not be very much profit. I'll keep my few raw.
