It depends if it has full steps. Need picture of the reverse! Also, unless you see n error on this coin, it is posted in the wrong forum. It should not be in errors and varieties.

To CCF! Also, it's not MS-70. Whoever graded this was way off!

@adg2115, first welcome to CCF. Second, the grade on this slab is meaningless as this basement grading service missed several clear tick marks on this coin, including one on Jefferson's cheek. You can use the CCF search function to look for others posts regarding INB (The International Numismatic Bureau), but the link below will tell you what you need to know:

Unless we can assume the error is in grading...?

Based on PCGS grading standards, at best this Nickel is MS65.

Okay first off this is my first time on this forum so sorry if I break any rules. It's not my intention. I'm going through my father estate and trying to appraise a lot of different things. Secondly I am completely ignorant to how coins are graded. Thanks for any input you might have in advance. I'm taking this coin plus many many others to a possible buyer tomorrow so I'm just looking for a price that would be wise to let this go for.

Unfortunately not worth much more than a dollar or two. Thank you for sharing though!

I appreciate y'all helping me out. I may post more as I dig through this mass of coins. Also if anyone is in the Richmond, Va area I would love some suggestions for some buyers or appraisers in the area

Welcome to the forum...it appears that it is a circulated S-mint nickel. I suggest you get some basic coin books and familiarize yourself with grading.

Reminds me of an auction price I saw on PCGS: The coin graded PS-70 Cameo. What did he get for it?

to CCF...IMO don't be in a rush to sell somethings you know little about, you (your Dad) might have something that carries value (however this nickel is not one). Feel free to post as often as you like, the pros here will be glad to give you honest answers...Best of luck

ADG2115!

I agree with the others in that this nickel is not MS70 (highest possible grade) and isn't necessarily a strong strike either. It is worth probably a couple bucks. Personally, the only grading companies I trust are PCGS, NGC and ANACS. Others would include ICG, as well. There are/have been many "grading" companies, many of which do/did poor work.

If you're willing to take the time to image your coins and post them on CCF for opinions/value, we will do our best to give fair assessments. We have nothing to gain from lowballing you, and sharing knowledge is the foundation of the forum.

to CCF. Sorry for your father's loss. Why are you in a hurry to sell? If you can take the time,do a little research on what you have so when you do sell stuff you will get the best amount. IMHO this nickel isn't even worth the couple of bucks as other members have said. I find them in pocket change in better condition from time to time.

Of all the things in the estate I want to start with liquidating the coins because they hold no sentimental value. My dad was an antiques dealer and would buy large lots of things and would just throw all the coins he found in a bin. I think there's a lot of good stuff in the bins but I don't have the eye to know what's worth something more than the material it's minted in. I posted the nickel first because a quick google search yielded some interesting results. I wish posting photos wasn't such a pain on here because I could take some high resolution photos of multiple coins that y'all could zoom in on and share your knowledge.
