Instead of eagles yearly we could have morgans! Best. Bullion. Ever.

This has got my attention, I would be interested. Would the Morgan be 90% or 999 silver?

I would think 90% (coin silver)

I suspect .999 as the silver commemoratives and proof coins have been starting 2019.

My own opinionated thoughts on this:

First of all, I'm excited by the idea. I've always loved both the Morgans and the Peace dollars. Not to mention fascinated by CC Mint coins in general.

I'd prefer .900 silver but I suspect it's more likely to be .999 silver, as CelticKnot suggests. I shudder at the thought of a cupro-nickel clad Morgan.

Proof is good. Uncirculated is good. I'm not a big fan of reverse proofs.

My biggest concern is as I understand it, the total mintage of all types would be 500,000. I see a real possibility of a first day sellout, meaning the small guy (me) would have no chance at them.

Just my thoughts.

2021 CC Morgan dollar:
A gimmik or a significant numismatic event?
Most probably, both.

I consider the gold 2009 Double Eagle to be an expensive gimmik.
Nevertheless,
I would love to own one!

Hi jbuck, thanks for the welcome sir. Whatever the mints end up doing, I'm in or will try to be in on them. If the total minted is only 500,000, they will go fast.

I'm wondering what the premiums will be at purchase. My guess - very high, along the lines of the recent POTN Eagle. Will probably get one of these new, softshell holders.

the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Set.

a 2021 morgan, peace, ASE and whatever new silver dollar the mint dreams up to replace the ASE.

just dreaming. y'all can add whatever specs to it... composition, finish, mm (all CC-minted?), mintage limit, sales limit, etc.

Let's hope that there's a 1-coin per family limit in effect for the first few days. Otherwise, a few big dealers will swoop in and gobble up tens of thousands in a single order.
