Greeting and good day everyone, my name is Eric, and look what I found? In my Grandfathers collection a "WM" 1776 New Hampshire Copper, and like the rest of us, I'm holding my breath,,,BUT...how do I tell if it's the Gold Nugget of coin collectors everywhere. Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you

Cast is a way of shaping metal. It is a bad thing, because most coins are punched/hammered

@tropicguy, sorry for the late reply. This looks like this is a cast copy of a NH token (which were also cast). Here is a link to a previous thread where a similar piece was discussed:

I agree, looks cast, which pretty much means it's fake.

"I agree, looks cast, which pretty much means it's fake." While this one is definitely fake, the fact that it is cast is not a determining factor. While little is known about the original coins they were actually cast, not struck.
