It is a problems free MS example 81-S Morgan. Please give your grade and any thoughts to your grade. Likes Dislikes Qualities Eye Appeal that sort of criteria. The pics are from another owner...this is the best photo's that I can offer.   |

MS64 I think the photos are hiding some areas but if I was buying from these photos then MS64 is as high as I would go.

I would be at 65 on this based on what I can see in the Sellers pics.
When you get it post pictures that you take. Your pictures might show things the sellers pictures don't.
That happens a lot nowadays.

If the photos arent hiding anything j can see this being as high as a 67, looks like it's probably dripping with luster, looks good!

Hello Adam: I can say without any hesitation that other coins that I've bought and/or have traded from this individual show better detail and luster than these pics show. The owner is a straight shooter and doesn't doctor up his photo's. In other words: Honest Individual!

Lighting makes it difficult to see field details clearly. You guys go for it.

MS65 but in a MS66 holder wouldn't surprise me.

These look like honest photos. You can get a general feel of surfaces, but it is tough for me to gauge the extent and depth of any contact marks. Currently I'll say MS-65, possibly +/- w/ different pics.

81(S) are strong and bold. without better photos i'd say this one is AVG for the year. its hard to say if any of the luster is broken and due to the blurry pics i'd be guessing at eye appeal. it looks decent though. looks like a few abrasions and maybe some rub here and there on the obverse. the cheek looks pretty clean as well as the neck. I'm going to put this one in the MS65 bucket for now. I think it may make 66 but I'm not going there until you get it in hand and take some better pics.

Love all the comments and support from everyone. The coin was graded in an OGH MS-66 It will be arriving in a few days and I look forward having it in hand. Thanks Folks!   |

I believe it is better from PCGS grade than I initially thought from photos alone, why it's so hard to grade Morgan dollars and some other coins via a single static photo. I guess it is what it is and we do pretty good at assessing them regardless. maybe a couple coin angles would help if they were tilted slightly
