I have been away from the computer pretty much for three weeks. Been fighting what I assume is COVID-19. I never had anything like it before anyway. Am now just about over it. Pretty much I am at home 24/7 and still got it...masks used on rare occasion of being outside, using sanitizer, etc. Anyway...its why my commenting has been very little. I have missed being here with everyone. Hoping all had a great Thanksgiving. BTW - a tip - "overdose" on vitamin C if you get the virus...the virus hates it. Echinacea also REALLY helped me (and my brother who already had it). I was taking 8000+mg per day of vitamin C and 7200mg daily Echinacea. Hoping you stay healthy...

Vitamin-C is a good thing, it is how the body heals. But keep in mind that you "pass it" almost as soon as you take it; that is, the body will use it or lose it. So, spread your intake throughout the day. OJ and vit-C supplements are not just for breakfast anymore! As for echinacea... this is anecdotal, but ever since I started using Ricola with echinacea I have noticed my colds have been way less severe. I used to get hammered with a bad case of bronchitis after the common cold every year (would last weeks), but not now. Just one or three Ricola a day; usually morning to soothe my throat, again in afternoon when I walk outside (to fight the wind, pollen, and all the things that make my throat scratchy), sometimes at night if I feel scratchy. Of course when I have an actual cold, I will have several day. The key is to minimize cough before my lungs get inflamed. Again, anecdotal evidence. YMMV. Always consult your primary care physician.

I really feel for the people in America when it comes to COVID-19. I have some older in-law relatives in SD.
Australia more fortunate. Zero community infections in Oz for more than 28 days. To get here, a traveler has to hotel isolate under strict security guard for 14 days. That even includes the Prime Minister, who is currently in isolation after returning from an overseas trip.
Only Australian citizens repatriating can come here. Off-shore and on-shore illegal migrant detention centers have been operating at full capacity for quarantining purposes. That limits the number of Australians coming home to about 8,000 per fortnight. I still practice social distancing and wear a face mask on public transport, but restrictions are slowly easing to zero, and the state borders have been reopened. Hospitals across Oz have zero active cases.
The tourist and travel industries has been totally devastated. So far, COVID-19 has cost the Australian economy nearly half a trillion dollars. Spread over a population of 24 million, that's a huge cost.
Need vaccine roll out much sooner than later. Looking forward to traveling overseas again myself, but not just for now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severe COVID-19 infection can cause damage to other organs, but is much less likely to happen if the infection is restricted with an early diagnosis and treatment with anti viral drugs. Unfortunately, they can cost, unless the Government pays for most of the treatment. For most under 40, the infection is just an inconvenience with personal quarantine isolation.

Hope you're completely over it by now. Stay safe.
Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that more people will die and be negatively affected by the collateral damage and the "stay home" cure from this virus!?!? Loss of jobs, lose their houses, being evicted from apartments, etc..
The suicides, murders, alcoholism rate, drug abuse, child abuse, depression, domestic abuse.........(would you like me to go on?).......is catastrophic and OFF THE CHARTS!!
Liquor stores are open but you can't go to AA meetings!!

Hope you have a speedy recovery Earle,
I had it late March, took the anti body test few days ago to find out that I was positive. I also take multi-vitamin and other herbs daily, so I believed that helps me not feeling any of the symptoms most people had, except for sore throat for the week. Doctor didn't know at the early stage that the virus can cause it, beside fever and short of breath.
I would suggest people take up daily vitamins, and exercises regularly whether they have the virus or not.
