Item 133588122887Would the American Numismatic Society be selling random coins on Ebay with a seller rating of "1" ? Just seems odd

feedback of (1)
offers NO RETURNS (ebay/paypal would trump this policy for almost any reason)

Makes sense to sell off low value common items and use the funds to support the society or make purchases.
Astute collectors do pretty much the same thing.... we call it thinning the herd!

Very strange, as a large and recognized organization, you would have figured that they would have approached Ebay directly and gotten some sort of special treatment (some sort of disclaimer, special symbol, template, etc), not just started a normal account with no feedback. Although very odd, does seem legit, as per the above article shared by @TNG. Also, worth a note that their description is a little underwhelming.

@John1, it is not the ANA. It is the ANS (American Numismatic Society), which I admit I did not know exist until today.

And the ANS is the older of the two organizations having been founded in 1858. ANA was 1891.

I read the Op post too fast and ANA is in Colorado so I was ready to think this was a fake. I never heard of ANS so I learned something - thanks.

I called the ANS, and this is indeed their eBay account. They are just getting started with eBay. They are going to fix their webpage to show the eBay ID, and link to their eBay listings.
ps. beautiful medals
